EXPECTATION OF EVERY BAND MEMBER:
❋ HOLINESSWe expect our team to live Biblically, upholding a standard of holiness in their own personal lives. As we lead others into worship on the stage- we must ensure that our lives off stage strive to match the message we proclaim on stage.
❋ PERSONAL WALKYou cannot lead others to a place you have not been. We expect each band member to be faithfully pursuing Jesus in their personal time, a unified member of Fayette Baptist involved in Lifegroup and Worship Services, attending the Big Three: Dnow, Surge, and Fall Focus, involved in doing life with our group, and actively being discipled, and disciple making. Living a worshipful life should overflow in how we express ourselves on the stage. We expect team members to be the kind of people to “do the obvious.” That band members are the first to volunteer to help, a team player, a hard worker, and of good character.
❋ A GOOD TEAM MEMBERPractice begins at home, and team members are responsible to be prepared for rehearsal. Our worship leadership is available during the week to help you on songs, and you are expected to listen to the music, practice, and ask questions before showing up to rehearsal. Rehearsal is a run through! Our team honors each other’s time through showing up on time and prepared for rehearsal every week.
❋ HONORWe take being able to serve our church in this capacity as sacred. We are entrusted with use. of God’s equipment, as well as the ears of God’s people. We expect all band members to honor the Lord and our church in how this position is held. Our team follows a professional dress guideline which helps us to honor all people from all walks of life who may walk in our doors. It allows us to look uniformed, professional, and not bring any distractions during worship that would take away attention from Jesus.
❋ TALENTAs every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 1 Peter 4:10-11
We believe in equipping young people to use their gifts to glorify God! We have a lot of multi-gifted and talented students at Fayette Baptist, and we are so thankful God has entrusted us to help walk with you in that.
It is our goal to help put the right people, in the right place, at the right time. Our team holds auditions for new band members. Band members are sometimes ready for leading from stage at audition, and some we spend time cultivating their talent before asking them to be on stage. Leading from the stage does not only take talent, and being talented does not automatically qualify you for the stage. We recognize that many students are in the beginning of their musical journey and it is our honor to walk along side and provide tools to help them cultivate these gifts and desires to serve the Lord in this area!
